If Old Antibes has a heart, it beats under the iron canopy of the Cours Masséna. Every morning the Marché Provençal fills with growers, cheesemongers, fishmongers and flower stalls — the kind of genuinely local market that has become rare on this coast.
When to go and what to buy
Every morning except Monday, from 7:30 am to 1 pm — arrive before 11 for the full display. Look for Provençal classics: tapenade and socca, goat cheeses from the hinterland, seasonal figs and strawberries, olive oils, and the flower stalls at the far end.
In summer afternoons the food stalls give way to local craftspeople, and on Thursdays and Saturdays an antiques market fills Place Nationale from 6 am to 4:30 pm — a different market on the same spots.
Shop it like a resident
