Its own front door on a quiet old-town street — and a 6 m² front-row balcony over the ramparts, the Mediterranean and the Cap d’Antibes.
An 80 m² house on two levels behind its own front door on Rue du Bateau. On the ground floor, the hall, a WC, the laundry room and storage; upstairs, the 35 m² living room with its open kitchen, the spacious 6 m² balcony in the front row over the ramparts and the sea, two bedrooms with their own shower rooms, and a second WC close to both.
With its own front door on the street, the house lives with the independence of a real home: air conditioning in each room, fibre broadband with a professional Wi-Fi router and hotel-standard linens; a washing machine and a dryer in the laundry room; a dishwasher, oven and microwave in the kitchen.

Inside Maison VistaMar
Our own photographs of the house, set in motion — the bay with snow still on the Alps, the balcony with nothing between it and the sea, and the rooms that share its light. No film crew came. How our films are made.
East light, sea beyond
Thirty-five square metres facing east, one floor up from the street, opening through double French doors onto the 6 m² balcony — in the front row over the ramparts and the sea, with the Cap d’Antibes on the horizon.
Original travertine underfoot; a three-seater sofa, an aviator armchair in aged leather, a white Tulip armchair and a coffee table. The designer dining table seats four.
A 42-inch television, fibre broadband, and Wi-Fi through a dedicated professional router.
A front-row seat on the Mediterranean
A spacious six square metres facing east to south-east, in the front row over the ramparts and the sea, with the Cap d’Antibes on the horizon. A table with four chairs for breakfast and dinner outside.
Cooking within sight of the sea
Part of the 35 m² living space and open onto the living room, in clean contemporary lines: Veneta Cucine cabinetry, a white granite worktop and original travertine underfoot.
Siemens throughout — oven, microwave, a four-zone induction hob, dishwasher, and a fridge with a three-drawer freezer. For breakfast, a Smeg toaster, kettle and filter coffee machine, and a Nespresso for the first espresso of the day — and every utensil a dinner for four could ask for.
Old stone, deep calm
Fifteen square metres over Rue du Bateau, on the same floor as the living room, with a 160 × 200 cm bed made up with Black Label bedding and two built-in dressing areas. Original travertine underfoot, and the house’s old stone left exposed on the walls.
The en-suite shower room has a black granite basin, a teak cabinet and shelving, and a 140 × 90 cm walk-in shower set against the same old stone. It has no WC: a separate one is just outside, close to both bedrooms.
Discreet elegance

A private door on Rue du Bateau
The house has its own front door on Rue du Bateau, a single original stone step from the street. On the ground floor, a spacious hall with a WC, a laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer, and generous storage for suitcases; a staircase leads up to the living room, the balcony and the two bedrooms.
Rue du Bateau, 70 m from the Picasso Museum
On Rue du Bateau, at the centre of Old Antibes’ three landmarks: the Picasso Museum 70 m away, the Provençal market 80 m and Notre-Dame-de-la-Platea Cathedral 130 m, each two or three minutes on foot. The ramparts are 40 m from the door.
A seventeenth-century building, with the house’s own front door on the street, secured by a reinforced door.
Cafés and restaurants, fashion and design boutiques, antique shops and art galleries are a few steps away. La Gravette beach is seven minutes on foot, Salis beach eighteen, and Port Vauban six.

VistaMar seduced us with its front-row balcony — that feeling of being on the bow of a ship, the sea straight ahead. And its own entrance from a quiet street, which is a rare luxury inside the walls. It is the house we recommend to couples who want Antibes at their feet without giving up their independence.
