Three ways to have the sea here

The first is a terrace, and three houses have one that faces the water. Maison Marina is the extreme case: it is built into the ramparts, so its outdoor room sits above the waves with nothing between but a parapet. Maison Baieta gives you a wide terrace turned towards the Cap d'Antibes, with a hot tub at the far end. Maison Pantai looks a few degrees further south and keeps the sun from breakfast until the light goes. What these three have in common is that the terrace becomes the room you actually live in: meals move outside, the day starts outside, and the interior turns into somewhere you mostly sleep.

The second is a roof. Maison Regina and Maison Soleiha have no terrace at street level — they have one on top, up the stairs of a seventeenth-century house, and what you get for the climb is a horizon the lanes never show. From up there the old town reads as a field of terracotta with a blue edge, and you look over the rooftops instead of through the gap between two buildings. It is a slower pleasure than the terrace houses: less immediate, wider, and completely private, because there is nobody above you.

The third is windows, and one house does it properly. Maison VistaMar keeps the sea in a line of east-facing openings and a balcony broad enough to sit on. The water arrives with the morning light, which means the view is at its best over coffee and has gone soft by mid-afternoon — the opposite rhythm to Pantai. If you would rather see the Mediterranean from a chair indoors than build your day around a terrace, this is the one to take.

One thing worth knowing before you choose: the sea here is not the same thing at every hour, and orientation decides which version you get. East-facing rooms take the sun off the water at breakfast and lose it early; south-facing terraces hold it all day and turn hot in July around two; the roofs are the only places that keep the light until it goes, which is also why they are the ones people end up eating on. In winter the calculation reverses — a south terrace is usable at lunch in February, and an east balcony is a morning-only proposition. If you are coming out of season, say so and we will tell you which of the six actually works in the month you have picked.

Put plainly: a terrace house if you intend to eat outside every night, a rooftop if you want a view that belongs to nobody else, and VistaMar if you want the sea to be part of the room rather than a destination on the floor plan. All six are inside the ramparts, so none of them asks you to trade the old town for the water.

The seventh house has a garden instead

Maison BenEstre has no sea view, and we would rather write that here than let you find it out on arrival. It is the smallest of the seven, a house for two, and what it has in place of a horizon is a private garden under a lemon tree — enclosed, quiet, and genuinely rare inside the ramparts, where outdoor space almost always means going upward. It stands on Rue du Marc, a few minutes further west than the others, which is part of the reason the garden exists at all.

For a couple who would trade a view for somewhere to sit outside with nobody overlooking them, it is the best house on this list. For anyone who came to Antibes for the water, it is the wrong one — and saying so is the entire point of naming it here.

The Gravette beach is a short walk from every door, and the ramparts walk runs along the water at the edge of the old town — so the question this page answers is not whether you will see the Mediterranean during your stay, but whether you will see it from indoors.
